A Review of the Literature on the Concept and Content of Intake Interview

Abstract
This study investigated the terms, concepts, and process of intake, the contents of letters of application, and the core topics of conversation between a counselor and his dient through literature studies. The term intake refers to the first counseling, the first interview, the first session of interview, a basic interview or an initial interview. The concept of intake means the period of tune starting from the dient`s application of counseling prior to counseling and to the first session of interview a with the professional counselor to resolve the client`s problems. A client will have the initial stage of counseling with a professional counselor on a booked date according to the process of counseling. As for the core topics of conversation between the counselor and his client, this refers to problems, symptoms, and other issues as they relate to the a dient. It also refers to the process of counseling and its plan based on the goal of counseling. It involves confidentiality and the terms of the contract on counseling.
